Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SolarMath (“we”, “us”) operates the website solarmath.xyz, a free solar calculator and guide publication for US homeowners. Questions about this policy: hello@solarmath.xyz

2. What you type into calculators stays on your device

All SolarMath calculators run in your browser using JavaScript. The figures you enter — bills, rates, roof areas, quotes — are never transmitted to us, never stored on a server, and never used to generate sales leads. When you close the tab, they’re gone. The contact form on this site opens your own email application; nothing is submitted through the website itself.

3. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage (which calculators and guides are read, roughly where readers are, what devices they use). Analytics data is collected by Google under its own terms and helps us decide which tools to improve. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s official browser add-on, and you can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting the calculators, which need no cookies to work.

4. Advertising and cookies — Google AdSense disclosure

SolarMath displays (or prepares to display) advertising served by Google AdSense. In connection with that advertising:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Google may use the DoubleClick cookie and similar technologies for ad personalisation, frequency capping and measurement.

Your choices: you may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a range of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices (US) — and manage or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them non-personalised.

5. What we collect directly

If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message, used only to reply and to manage the correction or question you raised. We do not operate accounts, newsletters with tracking pixels, or a comment system, and we never sell, rent or trade personal information — including to solar installers or lead brokers.

6. Children

SolarMath is a homeowner finance-and-energy publication not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

7. Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Questions or requests about your information: hello@solarmath.xyz
