1. The service
SolarMath provides free online calculators, guides and reference information about residential solar energy for US readers. By using the site you accept these terms.
2. Estimates, not professional advice
Calculator outputs are planning estimates generated from the inputs you provide and published average data (state sunshine, electricity rates, installed prices). They are not: a quote or offer to install; an engineering, structural or electrical assessment; financial, tax or legal advice; or a guarantee of production, savings or incentive eligibility. Solar purchasing decisions should be based on a site survey and written quotations from licensed installers, and incentive questions on current guidance from the IRS, your state energy office and your utility.
3. Accuracy
We work to keep figures current and correct — see our method — but rates, tariffs, incentive programmes and prices change, and errors occur. The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SolarMath is not liable for decisions made in reliance on calculator outputs or guide content.
4. Acceptable use
Use the site for personal, non-commercial research. You may link to any page. You may not scrape the site at abusive rates, misrepresent calculator outputs as SolarMath endorsements of a product or installer, or use the content to market solar products in a way that implies our approval.
5. Intellectual property
The site’s text, design and calculator logic are the property of SolarMath unless otherwise credited. Brief quotation with a link back is welcome; wholesale republication is not.
6. Third-party links
Links to official sources (such as IRS.gov, state energy offices and consumer opt-out pages) are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or availability.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is the one on this page, with its update date. Questions: hello@solarmath.xyz.
